Let’s talk disappointing celebrations for a minute. COVID-19 has meant that so many newlyweds, new biz owners, new parents, new graduates, new employees, new home owners, *the list goes on* have missed out on proper celebrations & it SUCKS. So I was 💯 thrilled when Plasmawr school asked me to create custom cards for their 350 leavers. Inside each card was a beautiful poem wishing them good luck in the future & letting them know they weren’t forgotten in all this chaos 💌
I wish I could send these cards to every student that didn’t get a proper send off.
I've been taking a much needed break from social media for the last couple of weeks, lots of family time, long walks & generally just taking a minute to enjoy the British summer ☀️ (& to draw some new parrot pals👆🦜) These super cute @maliburumuk grab & go cans have been perfect for my impromptu picnics ✨my fave is fizzy pink lemonade✨ 💖 I hope you’re taking some time for you? 💋

Usually my feed is a place for positivity, rainbows & neon fun, but my heart is heavy & I can’t ignore what’s going on in the world right now, none of us should. This is everyones problem. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For 8 years I called America home & my white privilege meant that I NEVER feared for my life at the hands of the very people who are supposed to protect us. Black people can’t say that. I’ve never felt disadvantaged because my skin is a certain colour. Black people can’t say that. I will never know what that feels like to be judged purely on the colour of my skin. ⠀⠀⠀
I don’t agree with the devastation that is occurring during the rioting, destroying the communities & businesses of so many hard working minorities, the very people that have endured so much racism, but I DO understand that it comes from a place of desperation & anger, from being ignored for far too long.
Dear white friends, we must do more.
