Your Eyes Lie

I've been commissioned to illustrate some t-shirt designs for the Carnaby Street based clothing company 'Your Eyes Lie'. They'll be available to buy in store soon, but until then, they'll look a little bit like this...

Archetypal Welsh

I've been working on some new pieces for some exhibitions here in Wales. The concept is a similar one to my Voyeur series, it's based on the people I see around me, but instead of Shoreditch high street & Camden market, think 'farmers, their wives & their jumpers'. More to come.

Lactofree Campaign

For the last couple of months, I've been working hard with the creatives at digital communications studio Outside Line on a new campaign for the brand Lactofree.
Most of the hard work has been done now, and it will be launched soon.
I'll let you know when it's out and about.

Week four / Watercolours

I've put the felt-tips away for a while to work on some new ideas with the old favorites. For me, using watercolours means a completely different way of creating characters, because I concentrate more on the negative space, and this becomes difficult because of the permanent qualities watercolours have - but I won't let this won't stop me. I'm developing some new images right now, so will be sending some your way shortly.

I'm currently working on a new illustrated logo for a clothes shop here in Wales. It's early days, but here's a sneaky peak of things to come...

Freestyle Magazine

I've just finished a series of illustrations for the next issue Freestyle Magazine.
For those of you who have not yet had a chance to marvel at Issue 1 of this beautifully round magazine in a frisbee, then you're missing out, and you should be putting it on your wish list *now*. Issue 2 will be available in stores very shortly - so you should pick up a copy at one of these places.

Here's what I've been up to...

This last few weeks I've been super busy, and have definitely neglected the blog, so I'm going to get back on it, now that things have started to get back to normality...sort of.
I've been involved in some exciting new projects from clothing companies, magazines, books, viral adverts and personal commissions, so I've got lots and lots to tell you about.

Festive drawings

I've decided to illustrate my own Christmas cards this year - as if I don't have enough to do!! So I've just started the mammoth job of printing them all. I'll add some photos when they're all stamped up.

Week three / Wax stamps

My lovely boyfriend recently bought me a old style wax sealing stamp with the letter N on it and lots of pretty coloured wax sticks - I simply couldn't love it more.
I've been doing a lot of Christmas commissions lately & this is how I've been sealing the invoices - I think it's pretty neat.

Now all I need is IKPLGTO to write the rest of my name.

Circus folk

Just to show you that I'm still working hard, here's a sneaky peak of a brand new project I'm working on. The concept is to highlights the lengths some people go to just to stand out/be noticed today. Sorta looks like the circus came to town.
More extreme examples to follow soon - probably in the form of a new gallery on my website.

Week two / Triangles

I bought a new scarf the other day, white with little black triangles all over it...It made me realise just how good triangles really are, so this is what I'm dedicating this weeks 'favorite' to. Definitely more triangle shaped things to come for me.

The bigger picture

Right now, for me, it's all about trying out new things, so I thought I'd start with the way that I present my illustrations, and give my scanner a rest! There's so much beautiful scenery here in North Wales, so I might as well include it in what I'm doing. This was just my first attempt, so lots more to follow pretty soon I hope-if it ever stops raining!

Week One / To draw with.

Ball point pens. I can't get enough of them right now. I like the gamble of not being able to use a rubber & it's made me realise that everything looks so much better in royal blue.
